Umur minimal indukan jantan adalah 8 Bulan atau ukuran +- 20cm, pada betina 6 bulan atau ukuran +- 15cm. Idealnya adalah Jantan berumur lebih dari 1 tahun, betina lebih dari 8 bulan, namun ukuran dan usia kembali pada masing-masing jenis siklid (apalagi pada jenis texas yang memiliki pertumbuhan lama/lambat, walaupun ukuran hanya 10-12cm, ia mampu membuahi).

Flowerhorn cichlids are ornamental aquarium fish noted for their vivid colors and the distinctively shaped heads for which they are named. Their head protuberance, or kok, is formally termed a "nuchal hump." Like blood parrot cichlids, they are man-made hybrids that do not exist in nature. First developed in Malaysia and Taiwan, they are now kept by fish hobbyists worldwide. Some critics have questioned the impact of flowerhorn breeding programs.

The Blood Parrot is just about the most curious result of cichlids interbreeding, and has created quite a stir in the aquarium hobby!

It is not uncommon for cichlids to interbreed in a hobbyists aquarium. When they are in spawning mode, they will often respond to a fish of the opposite sex whether it is the same species or another fish of a closely related species. The Blood Parrot, also called the Bloody Parrot or Blood Parrotfish, are a unique hybrid fish. They do not occur in nature.

The Blood Parrots have a very small mouth and a roundish "balloon" shaped body. Perhaps they are called Parrotfish because their nose looks like a 'parrots' beak. They can be solid or have a "calico" patterning or blotching., are available in a variety of colors. They range from basic pale or bright yellows, to oranges and reds. Dyed fish sport purples, pinks, blues, and more colors. These are generally sold as the 'Jellybean Parrot' and 'Bumble Gum Parrot' though there are also names that describe them by their color such as 'Purple Parrot'. Then there are Blood Parrots described by their physical appearance such as the 'Love Heart Parrot' which has no tail fin.

The blood parrot cichlid (also known as parrot cichlid and bloody parrot; no binomial nomenclature) is a hybrid cichlid. The fish was first created in Taiwan in around 1986.^[1] Its parentage is unknown, but the most commonly speculated pairings are midas cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus) with the redhead cichlid (Cichlasoma synspilum), or the severum (Heros severus) with the red devil cichlid (Amphilophus labiatus).^[2] Blood parrots should not be confused with other parrot cichlids or salt water Parrotfish (family: Scaridae).^[3]

That’s because Flower horn fish have never lived outside of captivity. They are a hybrid fish, created through breeding techniques over the years. So check out your fish tank and look for the few signs that can help you tell the difference between the males and the females.

Bambang melihat ke 4 pohon buah Srikaya di halaman rumah kami. Kebetulan sedang berbuah banyak. Bambang nyeletuk” Mir, Srikayanya banyak tuh, tinggal memetik. Kalau terlambat dipetik, biasanya malam hari dimakan Kelelawar.” Ia masuk ke dalam rumahku.

Saat ini aku hanya memelihara beberapa jenis ikan hias seperti ikan Koki merah dalam satu akuarium dan di dalam akuarium yang kedua disana ada ikan Black ghost yang hitam, panjang, gerakannya lucu, ikan Sumatra yang kuning belang-belang hitam yang gerakannya lincah, Manfish yang bentuk tubuhnya seperti ikan Bawal di laut, ikan Blackmoly yang berwarna hitam pekat, ikan Pedang yang berwarna merah dan berpedang bagi yang jantan. Mereka hidup rukun di akuarum berukuran 75 Cm kali 40 Cm dan tinggi 40 Cm. Tidak sulit memberikan mereka makan, cukup sehari 2 kali pagi dan sore, diberi cacing kering yang mudah dibeli di kios pedagang Ikan dekat pasar tradisionil kota kami dengan harga terjangkau.
